Man, time flies by quickly these days...Maybe I'm just getting old. ._.

Anywhoo, typed in this thing since the beginning of the year, thought I'd give a status update.

......

Still haven't found a job yet. ;_;

lol, it's not all bad, though. Gives me time to improve my work. Got to meet Stephen Silver (character designer for Kim Possible, Danny Phantom)! Gave me some really great advice, which I've now started to implement in my drawings. Other than that, just been sending out the resume to various animation and game studios, see what comes up. I'm sure an opportunity will pop up soon, just can't give up hope! :D

So......what else.......Oh! I went to Comic Con! :D AMAZING. The place was huge, and packed. So much to see there! So much goodies to buy! Only went to one panel though, but it was totally awesome - Regular Show! "OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!!!!!!" Never knew Moredcai's voice is J.G. Quintel's actual voice, no alteration at all, lol. Also got to see John DiMaggio there too!

Games:

Been playing a LOT of Killzone 3. Screw CoD, lol. Helghast for life! m/ >o< m/ Also just got Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition; I keep getting my ass handed to me by my friend, who doesn't even like Street Fighter. :( I hate you, Blanka! D:<

Music:

Graveyard - "Hisingen Blues": Have an appreciation for retro, early 70s era Heavy Metal/Hard Rock? You absolutely, positively NEED to hear these guys. One of my favorite albums this year, these Swedes have a sound that harken back to the early works of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. A must buy for fans of Witchcraft, Ghost, The Sword, and Wolfmother.

Fleshgod Armageddon - "Agony": INTENSE. Symphonic/Technical Death Metal, a rare occurrence in the scene. Haven't heard a recent band as brutal as these guys in a while.

Intronaut - "Valley of Smoke": Amazing combination of Progressive Metal and Jazz. While it has it's heavy moments, it's the soft, mellow, jazzy parts that really sell this album for me.

Devin Townsend Project- "Deconstruction": Been a fan of HevyDevy for a while, starting with his amazing Strapping Young Lad material. This album was somewhat of a homage to those old days; to date, it's his heaviest solo project album, though I wouldn't say it sounds like anything he would've done with SYL. LOTS of awesome guest musicians on this album too (Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth, Ishahn formerly of Emperor, Joe Duplantier of Gojira, Oderus Urungus of GWAR, etc.) Chaotic yet glorious. m/

Chthonic - "Mirror or Retribution" - ASIANS REPRESENT!!!! m/ >o< m/ I absolutely love the fact that these guys (and gal) from Taiwan are gaining such notoriety overseas. A great combination of Melodic Black Metal and traditional Taiwanese music (Love that er-hu), Chthonic has really started to come into their own with their brand of "Oriental Metal." Makes me proud! ^_^ Can't wait for their next album, "Takasago Army," to hit stores here in the states soon, if it hasn't already by now.

Oh yeah, Wacken Open Air 2011 went on last week (I think?). *Sigh* One of these days I'll go....why can't the U.S. have an awesome music festival like that? And don't say Ozzfest, cuz it hasn't been what it used to be in the past. :
